KIND is a national non-profit organization that helps provide compassionate legal counsel to refugee and immigrant children who come to the United States without a parent or legal guardian. KIND was founded by the Microsoft Corporation and by actress and humanitarian, Angelina Jolie, to help protect the rights of children in immigration proceedings. Each year, children come alone to the U.S., escaping abuse or persecution; others are victims of trafficking or other crimes. KIND finds pro bono attorneys to represent these children and provides comprehensive assistance to those attorneys who take on cases. Pro bono attorneys are able to work on cases individually or team up with others.
