Greensboro Bar Association, Second Chance Project

Barriers to gainful employment and safe housing face many North Carolina residents who have had contact with the criminal justice system.  Approximately one in five North Carolinians have a criminal record, including dismissed charges which remain on an individual’s record unless eligible for expungement. Greensboro Bar Association's signature pro bono initiative is set to kick-off in October 2015.  Bar members will assist Legal Aid clients currently living in low-income households who are eligible for an expunction and/or Certificate of Relief in Guilford County.
