Women's Lunch Place/Advocacy and Legal Assistance Program

For over 25 years, the Women's Lunch Place has been a daytime community in Boston for women who are poor or homeless. We are open 6 days per week, year round, and offer a full spectrum of advocacy and support services to each of our guests.

Skilled advocates provide individualized help with a wide range of complex issues such as housing, employment, substance abuse, domestic violence, medical care, mental health, and legal challenges. Volunteer lawyers assist with legal problems and questions.

Legal Aid: Advocates help women obtain legal aid for a variety of problems, including domestic abuse, eviction proceedings, immigration issues, past warrants, bankruptcy, divorce, and child and family issues. For those guests who are arrested or incarcerated, our program will help with bail or provide prison advocacy, where appropriate.
