Texas Elder Exploitation Project

The Texas Elder Exploitation Project can help senior citizens prevent financial exploitation and can help senior citizens who find they have been victims of financial exploitation. The program offers a financial exploitation legal hotline, as well as consumer education and other self-help materials. Texas Legal Services Center also holds informational seminars for groups.

The Texas Elder Exploitation Project was made possible by a three-year grant received in the fall of 2010 from the U.S. Administration on Aging to develop models for statewide legal assistance systems that coordinate the efforts of senior legal helplines, Older American Act (OAA)-funded legal assistance, Legal Aid, other nonprofit legal resources, private bar pro bono activities, and self-help sites to ensure maximum impact for seniors from limited resources.
