Lawyers for Literacy

LFL is a non-profit organization of volunteer attorneys, judges, and other legal professionals who work one-on-one with a 3rd-grade child at risk of failing the reading portion of the FCAT. Volunteers meet with the children at a participating school in Pinellas or Hillsborough County once a week for 12 weeks from November to February for a one-hour tutoring session in reading and comprehension. For those who have the desire to help but not the time, there are sponsorship opportunities as well to purchase books and supplies for children in the program.
