The Montgomery County Maryland Bar Foundation Pro Bono Program shall have the specific purpose to organize, operate, and contribute to programs dedicated to the promotion of social welfare, the elimination of prejudice and discrimination, the protection of human and civil liberties protected by law, and ensure the availability of qualified legal assistance of every kind to the member of the community.
Pro bono opportunities are available for attorneys to take cases and provide other legal support. Available opportunities include:
- Absolute Divorce (Separated 1 year)
- Separation Agreements
- Custody
- Adoption/Guardianship
- Simple Name Changes
- Bankruptcy (Simple Chapter 7)
- Limited Debt Collection Defense
- Private Landlord Tenant ( Security Deposits Only/No Hoc)
- Limited Immigration cases
- Limited Employment cases (wage claims only)
- Wills and Powers of Attorney
